SCOOTSCOOT ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform, website, and services.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information

When you register or use our services, we may collect:

  • Name, email address, and phone number
  • Payment card details (card brand and last four digits for display purposes — full card numbers are handled securely by Stripe and never stored on our servers)
  • Passport information submitted during identity verification
  • Selfie photo for identity verification matching
  • Profile photo and user-generated content
  • Rental inspection photos (front, rear, left, right, and odometer images of the scooter at pickup and return)
  • Location data when using the social map or during an active rental (foreground only — we do not track your location in the background)
  • Scootie Gang connections and activity history

Usage Information

We automatically collect information about how you interact with our platform:

  • Device information (IP address, browser type, operating system)
  • Log data (access times, pages viewed, app features used)
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies
  • Rental history and booking information

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our services
  • Process bookings and service fee payments
  • Verify your identity through passport and selfie matching
  • Maintain the shared blacklist to protect rental shops and riders
  • Power Scootie Gang connections and the social map
  • Share your approximate location with other riders on the social map (foreground only, while the app is open — you can manage visibility in your settings)
  • Send you technical notices, updates, and support messages
  • Respond to your comments, questions, and customer service requests
  • Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities
  • Personalize your experience and provide tailored content
  • Power AI-assisted features (ScootIe chatbot) to help with bookings, shop management, and rider support — chat messages may be processed by our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate responses
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

3. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We may share your information in the following circumstances:

With Rental Shops

We share necessary information with rental shops to facilitate your bookings, including your name, contact information, verification status, and rental details. Rental shops can also see your blacklist status and any flags from other shops on the platform.

With Other Riders

If you use the social map, your approximate location and basic profile information may be visible to other riders on the platform. Scootie Gang connections can see your activity and profile. You can manage your visibility in your account settings.

We work with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf. These include:

  • Stripe — Payment processing and card storage
  • Supabase — Database hosting and authentication
  • Vercel — Application hosting and analytics
  • Google Maps — Map display and location services
  • Resend — Transactional email delivery
  • Anthropic (Claude AI) — AI-assisted chat features via ScootIe

Each provider processes data according to their own privacy policies and our data processing agreements.
