Seraj grew up in California chasing two kinds of records — the ones you play and the ones you set on an open road. He's a DJ: his whole life runs on one instinct — find something that moves you, then get a whole room to feel it at once. Behind the decks he reads the crowd; off them, he does the exact same thing with a map.
He's a lifelong traveler who can't keep a good trip to himself, and that pull — handing someone the freedom you just found on the road — is the whole reason SCOOTSCOOT exists. It's the spirit we built into Scootie: never ride alone, always bring the crew. So when Juan came back from Southeast Asia sure the way people rent scooters was broken, Seraj already knew the fix had to feel less like a booking form and more like an invitation.

Co-founder — rode Southeast Asia with Scoot.
He's obsessed with the freedom you get on a scooter — cruising Southeast Asia with his dog Scoot riding shotgun, chasing sunsets and hidden beaches.
After years across Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam, he kept seeing the same problem from both sides: shops burned by tourists who'd wreck a bike and vanish, and good riders stuck with sketchy shops and zero transparency. Shop owners asked him to build something better — so they did.

Who founded SCOOTSCOOT?
SCOOTSCOOT was founded in 2025 by two Californians, Seraj and Juan Antonio. Seraj is a DJ and lifelong traveler whose instinct to pull his friends along — 'you have to see this, come with me' — is the origin of the platform's Scootie spirit: sharing the freedom of the road. Juan Antonio is a scooter obsessive who rode across Southeast Asia with his dog, Scoot, and kept watching the rental experience break down for both shops and riders. Together they built SCOOTSCOOT.

SCOOTSCOOT is a two-sided platform that connects travelers with trusted, verified scooter rental shops across Southeast Asia. Riders see daily prices upfront, book with optional ride protection, and join a social community of other riders. Rental shops list their fleet for free, accept verified bookings, and protect their bikes with a shared blacklist of problem renters.
Where did the idea for SCOOTSCOOT come from?
It came from both sides of the road. After years riding across Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam, Juan kept seeing shops burned by tourists who wrecked bikes and disappeared, while good riders were stuck with sketchy shops and zero transparency. Shop owners literally asked him to build something better. Paired with Seraj's belief that the best thing you can do with an adventure is share it, that became SCOOTSCOOT.
Who is Scootie?
Scootie is the SCOOTSCOOT mascot and the friendly face of the platform. She carries the spirit the founders built the company on — sharing the freedom and adventure of the open road. On the shop side, Scootie is also the name of the AI assistant that helps rental shops handle bookings and messages over WhatsApp, Telegram, and LINE.
Where does SCOOTSCOOT operate?
SCOOTSCOOT is built specifically for Southeast Asia and covers Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia (Bali), the Philippines, and Sri Lanka, with launch markets in Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Laos. It's designed around how scooter rentals actually work in the region — local pricing, deposits, and passport checks.
What is the Scootie Gang?
The Scootie Gang is SCOOTSCOOT's rider community. Riders who do activities together connect automatically — no friend requests needed. You can see who's around on the social map, link up for group rides, and build your crew as you travel.
Is SCOOTSCOOT free to use?
Rental shops list their fleet and join for free. Riders pay a small service fee when they book through the app to confirm the reservation; the rental price and deposit are paid directly at the shop.
